Iron Man

Who’s in it: Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Samuel L Jackson
What’s it about: Rich fella gets badly injured, creates metal suit to save his life and ends up uses it to save others’ lives as well.
Where it’s at: All wrapped up and coming May 2008

The Dark Knight

Who’s in it: Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Maggie Gyllenhaal
What’s it about: After showing his origins in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight focuses on his first foes, The Scarecrow and of course, The Joker.
Where it’s at: In cinemas July 2008

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Who’s in it: Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Liev Schreiber
What’s it about: As title suggests, concentrates on the beginnings of Wolverine and the Mutant X programme.
Where it’s at: Currently filming – expected 2009

Hancock

Who’s in it: Will Smith, Charlize Theron
What’s it about: Unlike the others this one’s a comedy about an alcoholic superhero who gets spurned by the public and then falls in love with the wife of the guy who’s trying to save his public image. Where’s it at: ETA July 2008

Justice League Mortal

Who’s in it: No one confirmed but Adam Brody is the only big name attached at the moment.
What’s it about: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman all join forces to fight evil.
Where it’s at: After many problems, it’s now pitched for 2009.

Superhero Movie

Who’s in it: Leslie Nielsen
What’s it about: With Nielsen attached it should come as no surprise that this is a send up of all the superhero movies of recent years.
Where it’s at: April 2008

The Incredible Hulk

Who’s in it: Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth
What’s it about: Ignoring the disaster that was the last movie, this one concentrates on Dr Banner trying to find a cure to rid him of The Hulk forever.
Where it’s at: June 2008

Hellboy II: the Golden Army

Who’s in it: Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, John Hurt What’s it about: The mythical world begins a rebellion which Hellboy and pals must step in to fight for the sake of humanity.
