Nine to Five to Broadway
Next in a long line of movies making it to Broadway comes – da-da-daaah! - the Dolly Parton classic which is also getting a whole bunch of new tunes.
The 80s’ classic, 9 to 5, is set to make its debut on Broadway with the classic theme tune, the original score and 20 new songs written by none other than Dolly Parton herself.
The movie was about three secretaries who all scheme to take revenge on their pig of a boss.
Says Dolly of the theatrical version, ‘I don't know how good it is. I just hope that it's good. ‘I had a great time doing it. They [the production team] all say it's good. But we won't know until the next morning after we open.’
The show will open on Broadway on 23rd April 2009.
